Service User Advisory Group for 12-16-year-olds

We are launching a new Patient/Service User Advisory Group for 12-16-year-old CAMHS service users to advise on research studies and to provide us with unique insights and viewpoints.

Students 'take over' the BRC

The NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) invited their Youth Award winners to ‘takeover’ the BRC on Friday 23rd November. The BRC Youth Awards are part of the IoPPN Youth Awards. The Awards aim to encourage young people (aged 15-18) from schools in the local area to stay to stay in education and develop a career in science, with a specific focus on social problems and psychological health. They began in 2013 and have been steadily increasing in number ever since.

World Mental Health Day 2018: Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World

Today is World Mental Health Day and the focus for 2018 is on young people and mental health in a changing world. The World Federation of Mental Health says that they want the day 'to bring attention to the issues our youth and young adults are facing in our world today and begin the conversation around what they need in order to grow up healthy, happy and resilient.'

Top mental health trust in England for number of research studies

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust was the top mental health trust in the country for the number of open studies last year with 101 studies available for patients to participate in. This was up by 14 per cent from 89 studies the previous year. This is according to new figures from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
