We are committed to working with young people and ensuring that their voice is heard in shaping our research.
- Our young people's mental health advisory group (@YPMHAG) includes 16 - 25 year olds with personal experience of having used mental health services or caring for someone who has. The group advise researchers on their projects from a young person’s point of view and also work on their own projects to raise awareness of involving young people in mental health research.
- The BRC Youth Awards, part of the IoPPN Youth Awards, aim to inspire young people from the local area to stay in education and develop a career in science.
- Takeover Challenge - an annual event championed by the Children's Commissioner for England - sees us open our doors to young people when they take over the BRC for a day.
