The power of co-production: Building service user research skills with the Recovery College

Rachel Holden, Clinical Psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, and Nick Hunter, Peer Recovery Trainer at the Recovery College, have been working with clinicians, researchers and service users to develop a novel approach to co-produced research in collaboration with the Recovery College at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Diagnosis of a genetic cause in hundreds of people with motor neuron disease could be missed due to “arbitrary age limits and rules” on genetic testing, new study shows

Based on the findings of a new study published in Brain, researchers from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London are calling for a complete rethink of the national guidelines surrounding who can access genetic testing for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also called motor neuron disease.

Dr Sally Marlow to be first Researcher in Residence at BBC Radio 3

‘Drug related deaths are avoidable’ - South London and Maudsley and King's College London mark International Overdose Awareness Day 2022

Maudsley Hospital, King’s College London’s National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience main building, and The Weston Education Centre will light up purple to raise awareness for International Overdose Awareness Day 2022 and share the message that drug related deaths are avoidable.
