‘Drug related deaths are avoidable’ - South London and Maudsley and King's College London mark International Overdose Awareness Day 2022

Maudsley Hospital, King’s College London’s National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience main building, and The Weston Education Centre will light up purple to raise awareness for International Overdose Awareness Day 2022 and share the message that drug related deaths are avoidable.

Lessons learnt as addictions researchers during a global pandemic

New collaboration with digital therapeutics company to investigate preventable opioid respiratory deaths

A clinical trial that is collecting data on the features of opioid overdoses within the safety of a clinical setting will be integrating a monitoring platform into the research to investigate how to prevent deaths from breathing problems in opioid users.

SURE Recovery App – two years on after its launch

In 2019, NIHR Maudsley BRC and the charity Action on Addiction launched the SURE Recovery App, designed to help people recovering from alcohol and other drug problems. To mark International Recovery Day 2021 on 30th September, we are taking a retrospective look at the creation of the App and how it has evolved over the last two years.
