Using patient data to understand service use and improve care during the COVID-19 pandemic

CRIS-COVID-19 Rapid Response Initiative is a project led by Robert Stewart and Matthew Broadbent from the Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) team. They have created a data resource which provides both clinicians and researchers short- and long-term monitoring of clinical outcomes and changes to service use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Helen Munn new chair of External Scientific Advisory Board

She takes over from Professor Nick Hastie CBE, who has chaired the SAB since 2007 and will continue to serve as a SAB member taking a specific role advising on our career pathways for early career researchers.

Study supports link between traffic-related air pollution and mental disorders

Researchers at King’s College London, Imperial College London and University of Leicester  have found first UK evidence that adults exposed to high levels of traffic-related air pollution are more likely to experience mental disorders in a study funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Applied Research Collaboration South London (ARC). Their study has been published in Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology journal today (24 October 2020).
