Service User Advisory Group looking for 12 to 16-year-old members

Do you know anyone between 12-16 years old who has used mental health services or has lived experience of mental health illness?

The NIHR Maudsley BRC are launching a new Patient/Service User Advisory Group for 12-16-year-old CAMHS service users to advise on research studies and to provide us with unique insights and viewpoints.

Sessions will be held in the school holidays at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (Denmark Hill campus), and will include a fun educational activity and lunch.  We also cover travel expenses and a small payment (£20). Participants are welcome to bring their parents or care coordinators as they prefer.

We are looking for members for this group and wondered if you know any young people who would be interested in this opportunity?

The first session will be on Tuesday February 19 2019 (11.00-15.00), which is during the half term holidays. This will also serve as an introduction to the group and training event for the young people.

Do also get in touch if you/your research team would like to present your grant application/research study at one of these meetings to gain feedback as part of Patient/Public Involvement, now a requirement of most funders.

Dr Sagar Jilka and Dr Charlotte Tye, on behalf of the Adolescent Advisory Group.
