Jyoti has a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Delhi University, India and an MSc in Computer Application from IP University Delhi, India. After completion of her degree, she worked as a Business Analyst in Wipro, India.

In 2012, she joined, as a Dashboard Developer, Open Business Associates in London, who provide open software solutions to software and financial companies. Jyoti's role was specific to developing dashboards required by management of companies using open software. 

In 2013, she joined Southampton City Council as a Management Information Analyst which involved collecting customer requirements and converting them into functional requirements to develop dashboards and management reports using SQL and Java.

In her current role as Natural Language Processing Lead in, she works closely with researchers and manages the development of applications from the free text using machine learning and other approaches.
