Matthew is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh (MA Hons) and the Open University (BSc). In 1998, his first role at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) was developing, testing and implementing the Trust’s clinical outcomes model. In 2003 he then managed the development of SLaM’s single integrated clinical information process, which defined the content and structure of the Trust’s single electronic health record – the electronic Patient Journey System.
Matthew started work at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) in 2007, where he managed the development and implementation of CRIS. He now manages the BRC’s clinical informatics services, including services supporting the use of CRIS, Natural Language Processing and Clinical Data Linkage services.
