Topping Out ceremony marks a milestone for The Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People’s Mental Health

The Topping Out ceremony marks a significant milestone in the construction of the new £65 million Centre. It will bring together world-leading academics and clinicians across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, to transform child and adolescent mental health care and dramatically reduce the time it takes to bring research to clinical treatment.

New centre to accelerate psychedelic research and models of care for mental health in the UK

Diagnosis of depression in adolescents can negatively impact educational performance, study shows

A study funded by NIHR Maudsley BRC has shown that the onset of depression in adolescents is likely to have a negative impact on subsequent educational performance. Previous research has shown this relationship, but it has been difficult to understand the magnitude of this impact and describe it a way that could be meaningful to young people, families and staff within health and education settings.
