BRC Nucleus

The NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Nucleus is a state of the art facility established in 2009 as a result of a major infrastructure grant from the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.

The BRC Nucleus brings together specialists in bioinformatics, statistics, biobanking and neuroimaging to develop innovative analytical and biomedical projects to support translational research.

The new research tools being developed in the Nucleus are designed to improve the quality of research data and produce faster, more focused results, from large and complex clinical, genomic, proteomic and neuroimaging data. This will improve our ability to develop new biomarkers, as well as diagnostic tools for the prevention, treatment and understanding of mental health illness and dementia.
