Trainees' public & patient engagement

Trainees supported by the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) are encouraged to participate in patient and public engagement activities.  These activities include:

  • Communicating their research in short videos.  These videos are intended to be used in secondary school science teaching:  PhD students' videos
  • A number of our trainees participate in the Youth Awards scheme, mentoring award winners:  Youth Awards
  • Organising events for patient groups: Parkinson's Day
  • Since 2014 the NIHR Maudsley BRC has been supporting the annual Pint of Science Festival with our BRC students involved in organising the King's College London series of talks for the 'Beautiful Mind' events.
