Our aims are to provide a core facility and infrastructure for experimental medicine and clinical trials in the four most common dementias of late life – Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies and other synucleinopathies, and in frontotemporal dementia associated with motor neuron disease.
Theme Lead: Professor Robert Howard
- Perform first in disease trials with existing therapeutics with an aim of rapid translation into clinical use.
- Perform clinical trials, for proof of concept and feasibility of new disease modification medicines and effectiveness outcomes.
- Build on our basic science, by taking therapeutics from our NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) labs into clinical trials.
